His Majesty Dr. Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV, the King of Tooro is a role model to almost every young person in the country of Uganda. He is a patron of the iKon awards and his wise counsel, guidance and support have shaped the objectives of the awards. His innovations within the Kingdom of Tooro like the Model Farm, Engabu Za Tooro have strengthened the cultural heritage and tourism.

HUMPHREY NABIMANYA

Humphrey is the vision-bearer and creator of the iKon awards. For the past 12 years, Humphrey has founded and managed a successful youth serving organization [Reach A Hand Uganda] with a trackable direct impact of 5 million young people in uganda. Humphrey’s vision has always been to empower young people with quality information and inspire them to become professional citizens.

Usama is a well known and reputable producer in the Ugandan film industry. On some occasions he doubles for a film directing role. Usama is passionate about filmmaking and skilling persons with filmmaking experience and skills. He has produced and directed Kyaddala:Its Real series season 2. With a brilliant mind and rich experience in the industry, he runs and guides the daily operations of the ikon awards.

HERMAN NAMANYA

Herman is a professional writer and doubles as the Senior coordinator at the Sauti-plus media hub and Reach A Hand Uganda. He leads on the management of special projects and duties inclusive of the IKon Awards. His experience of 9 years in operations of several civil society organizations has yielded new partnerships and maintained active relationships with multiple donors and partners.

PEACE CHArLOTTE APIO

Peace is a young avid coleen whose passion runs deep in filmmaking and videography. With a bachelor’s degree in journalism and communications, Peace has recorded, edited and published multiple documentaries and human interest stories. Peace is well experienced in operating livestream and running digital platforms.

 

 

 

GLORIA HAGUMA

A season journalist and communication professional who has constructed a career as a PR specialist over an 8year period, Haguma has worked with some of the leading brands in the region including Paramour Cosmetics, Faraja Africa Foundation, Voices & Beats Records, Diageo Uganda (Cîroc Uganda and Johnny Walker), and many others. 

She has also worked with top Ugandan fashion brands like Abryanz Brand (Abryanz Style & Fashion Awards & Abryanz Collection), Beryl Qouture, Kai Divo’s Collection, Mavo Kampala, SKP Clothing line and so many others. 

She has also cultivated an almost decade long career in journalism that has seen her grow into one of the most celebrated and recognized fashion columnists in Uganda, with her work being published in the reputable Daily Monitor. She has been the columnist for the daily’s Sqoop magazine fashion space and Full Woman for the last 10 years. 

 

JESCA AHIMBISIBWE

Jesca is the  company director of Cinema UG  a growing and leading company majoring in branding, marketing, and distribution of the film. Professionally She is also a software engineer specialing in website development, user interface, and graphics design.

She possess an excellent research mind, coupled with the ability to communicate comfortably at all levels. loves technology and solving people’s problems using IT with 5 years of experience in IT sales and marketing, and 4 years of experience in SEO and Digital Marketing.

Vision:
To build a long-term career as an elementary Software developer, mentor, and visionary leader in the film industry with the ability to impact those around me bringing transformation.
